About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Peoples Associate to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting our organisation's operations. As a Peoples Associate, you will serve as the primary point of contact for communications with parents, the community, and various internal teams. Your responsibilities will include facilitating student and volunteer application processes, coordinating calls and meetings, and providing essential support to ensure the smooth functioning of our programmes.

The ideal candidate for the Peoples Associate position will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building relationships and fostering a positive community environment. They should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A compassionate and empathetic nature, coupled with a genuine commitment to supporting our organisation's mission, is essential. Previous experience in HR or community outreach roles is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communications with parents, the community, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate student application processes, including inquiries, submissions, and follow-ups.
  • Manage volunteer application procedures, including screening, onboarding, and coordination.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of community outreach initiatives and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information related to students, volunteers, and organisational operations.

Role-Specific Skills and Experience:
( D = desired, all others are required)

  • University graduate or student [D].
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for and alignment with our organisation's cause.

Time Commitment:

  • This is a part-time volunteering role for an initial 3 month period, starting in July 2024, up until the launch of our first programme, September 2024. Beyond this, depending on the needs and trajectory of our organisation, we’d be open to discussing a long term volunteering position.
  • This role will require an average of 4-7 hours per week, inclusive of team meetings.*

*The adjustment of workloads is something we are happy to discuss at the interview stage, as need be. At Al-Quds Academy, a core part of our group values revolve around ensuring the welfare of our team members. We understand that everyone has unique work schedules and personal commitments, and we are prepared to accommodate periods of decreased availability, adjusting workloads as necessary.
